Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist and be the friendly, organized first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, handle patient inquiries, and ensure seamless communication between patients and medical staff. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment while maintaining efficient clinic workflows. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance information, and assist with check-in procedures using various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently using medical scheduling software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with billing processes including medical collection tasks and medical coding (ICD-10, CPT coding) Manage patient records by filing, updating electronic health records (EHR systems), and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, direct calls appropriately, and handle appointment rescheduling or inquiries promptly Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating medical history in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support clinic operations by managing office supplies, maintaining filing systems, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry and typing with high accuracy Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with familiarity in clinic operations and front desk responsibilities Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with health information management is preferred Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with dental terminology or dental office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus Ability to handle sensitive patient information following HIPAA guidelines with discretion and professionalism Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone etiquette and clear communication abilities Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid billing is advantageous Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and accurate data entry Join us in delivering outstanding patient service while advancing your career in healthcare administration!
