Job Description

Dental - Front Office Coordinator Most dental front desks are a phone, a clipboard, and "the doctor will be right with you." Ours isn't. At Smile Avenue Family Dentistry, the front office is the first and last impression of a practice built on one promise: every patient feels understood, confident, and cared for — every visit, no matter who they see. If you remember names, read the room, and want the nervous patient to leave better than they walked in, keep reading. What You'll Do Greet every patient like they're expected and welcome — because they are. Own check-in and check-out — making sure required paperwork is complete and the daily schedule keeps flowing. Take ownership of day-of schedule management to keep the day on time and minimize patient wait times. Lead financial and treatment-plan conversations with clarity and zero pressure — we educate, we never push. Verify and explain insurance so patients understand their investment before they're surprised by it. Partner with our centralized scheduling and billing team for seamless communication and clean handoffs. Protect the patient experience when the day gets busy — managing the workflow so the office stays calm and welcoming. That's the real job. What We're Looking For Genuine warmth and hospitality with every patient — you create a reassuring atmosphere. A demonstrated ability to stay calm and effective in stressful, high-pressure moments. Dental or medical front office experience (strong preference for Open Dental + insurance familiarity). Strong organizational skills with proven follow-through on tasks and commitments. Effective communication and a strong telephone presence. An ownership mindset — you take initiative without needing to be prompted. A belief that trust is built through careful attention to the details. Not for you if you want to clock in, stare at a screen, and avoid patients. We're relationship-first, and the front desk sets the tone. What We Offer Real systems and training — you'll be set up to win, not left to figure it out. A team that takes the patient experience as seriously as you do. Competitive hourly pay, a growth path, and a culture worth showing up for.
