In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical administrative support, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication skills will help streamline clinic operations and enhance patient experiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality healthcare delivery in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification using systems such as Availity, Athena One, or other insurance portals. Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and coordinate follow-up visits as needed Manage incoming calls on multi-line phone systems, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and effective communication Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, reviewing documentation for completeness, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) Support clinic operations by handling clerical tasks such as data entry Skills Proficiency in Athena One for documentation review and data management Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing practices to support accurate record-keeping and coding processes Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare and other payers; familiarity with ICD coding standards is a plus Excellent computer skills Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior clinic or specialty office experience is preferred Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and security of health information at all times
