Job Description

Job Overview Join our Farwell Family Healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk of a busy medical practice. This vital role combines exceptional patient service with administrative expertise to ensure smooth daily operations. As a Medical Receptionist, you will handle patient intake, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical record management, all while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment that keeps our patient confident in their care. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures using EMR systems. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing processes including medical collection efforts. Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic day. Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information, and explaining clinic policies. Assist with patient inquiries via multi-line phone systems, providing clear information about clinic services and appointment details. Maintain filing systems for medical records and ensure proper organization of clinical documentation. Support clinical staff by preparing intake forms and facilitating communication between patients and providers. Skills Experience with EMR systems is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key for efficient data entry. Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to handle a multi-line phone systems confidently. Demonstrated ability to handle insurance verification processes accurately and efficiently for Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurers. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings; fluency in the Spanish language is advantageous.
