The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, handle insurance verification, and support the administrative functions of the clinic. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical terminology, and proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) and practice management systems. Experience in a dental office environment is preferred to ensure seamless patient service and efficient office operations. Spanish is a strong plus. Duties Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional front desk customer service Schedule, confirm, and modify patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Open Dental Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including PPO and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and coding Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries Manage patient records in EHR systems like Open Dental Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform insurance verification and pre-authorizations for dental procedures Assist with patient intake processes, including data entry and updating medical histories Maintain accurate documentation review for procedures using CPT coding Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette and manage appointment reminders Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and effective care plans Qualifications Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly preferred; clinic or dental office experience is a plus Proficiency with dental software such as Open Dental Strong knowledge of dental terminology, insurance verification processes, and health information management standards (HIPAA compliance) Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with office management systems Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities Bilingual abilities are required Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong organizational skills with the ability to review documentation accurately and support medical administrative functions This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to providing quality patient care while utilizing your administrative expertise.
