Job Summary:
A Medical Receptionist, or Front Desk Receptionist, is responsible for interacting with guests in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team. Their duties include scheduling patient appointments according to the Doctor's availability, explaining intake forms to new patients, and processing payments after treatment.Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts Manage all incoming phone calls and assist with referring inquiries. Register patients according to established protocols Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance. Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy Maintain and manage patient records Move patients through appointments as scheduled Scheduled patient appointments Collect co-pays and payments Report statistics as required Respond and comply to requests for information Complete other clerical duties as assigned Maintain stock of forms and office supplies Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality Any additional duties assigned by management to support the clinicEducation/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required 2+ years' experience in a medical-specific role or healthcare industry Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required) Knowledge of medical and billing terminology is strongly recommended Proficient in Word and Excel E-Clinical Works experience is a plus Great time management and organization skills Excellent telephone and customer service skills Innovative, motivated, organized, and team player Ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Must possess close attention to detail Ability to learn new procedures and adapt quickly to change Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule, with the ability to work on weekends when necessary (dependent on clinic location).EEO Statement:
