Bilingual Referral Coordinator

Job description About the Role HOPE Amputation & Prevention Center is seeking an experienced Bilingual Referral Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced specialty medical environment and can take full ownership of the referral and authorization process. This is not an entry-level administrative role. We are looking for someone who understands specialty medical workflows, operates with urgency, follows through consistently, and can independently manage high referral volume while maintaining excellent communication with patients, providers, and referring offices. The ideal candidate has strong experience with insurance verification, referrals, prior authorizations, and Athena EMR. Key Responsibilities Manage referrals from intake through scheduling completion Coordinate and track prior authorizations and insurance approvals Verify insurance eligibility and referral requirements Maintain consistent follow-up on pending referrals and authorizations Communicate with referring providers, patients, imaging centers, and insurance companies Ensure all required medical records, imaging, labs, and documentation are obtained prior to appointments Accurately document all referral activity Monitor referral queues and prevent delays in patient care Support scheduling coordination for specialty visits and procedures Escalate authorization or referral barriers proactively Maintain high attention to detail and strong organizational accuracy Qualifications Required Fluent in Spanish and English 2+ years of medical referral coordination experience Strong Athena EMR experience

REQUIRED

Experience with: Insurance verification Referrals Prior authorizations Procedure/surgical authorizations Patient scheduling coordination Strong multitasking and organizational skills Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume specialty clinic Professional communication and follow-through

Preferred:

Experience in vascular, podiatry, wound care, hyperbarics, surgical, or procedure-based specialties Experience managing high-volume referral workflows Understanding of specialty insurance and authorization requirements Strong problem-solving and operational awareness Why Join HOPE? Pay:
