In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a warm, professional, and efficient experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your energetic approach will help streamline daily operations, manage patient flow, and support the overall success of our clinic. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to delivering exceptional dental care and customer service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with accuracy and efficiency using dental practice management Open Dental. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility. Schedule appointments, coordinate patient flow, and manage calendar updates to optimize clinic operations. Collect payments, process collections, and handle billing tasks Maintain accurate dental records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately. Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech. Assist with intake procedures for new patients and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. Collaborate effectively with clinical staff to facilitate smooth office management and provide outstanding patient service. Requirements Proven experience in a dental office setting with strong front desk or administrative support skills. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes. Proficiency in office software including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth; experience with health information management is a plus. Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately using platforms like Medicare or other third-party payers; understanding of HIPAA compliance is essential. Excellent communication skills with strong phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing procedures. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude. Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology such as Care plans or dental office workflows is beneficial.
