Competitive, based on experience About Our Office We are a patient-centered general dental office looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk / Scheduler / Insurance Coordinator to join our team. This position is an important part of the patient experience, as you will often be the first and last person patients interact with during their visit. We are looking for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, comfortable communicating with patients, and able to help keep the schedule and front office running smoothly. Position Summary The Front Desk / Scheduler / Insurance Coordinator will be responsible for greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, presenting basic financial information, collecting payments, and supporting overall front office operations. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a busy dental office environment. Responsibilities The Front Desk / Scheduler / Insurance Coordinator will be responsible for: Greeting patients warmly and checking them in and out Answering phone calls, texts, and emails in a professional manner Scheduling new patient exams, hygiene visits, treatment appointments, emergencies, and follow-up visits Managing and maintaining a productive daily schedule Confirming appointments and helping reduce last-minute cancellations and no-shows Verifying dental insurance benefits and eligibility Explaining insurance estimates, copays, deductibles, and patient portions Preparing and submitting dental claims, pre-authorizations, and attachments as needed Following up on unpaid claims, denials, and outstanding insurance balances Collecting patient payments and discussing basic financial arrangements Updating patient information, medical history, insurance details, and account notes Coordinating communication between the doctor, clinical team, and patients Presenting treatment plans or supporting treatment plan presentation when needed Maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA guidelines Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office area Qualifications Dental front office experience preferred Experience with dental insurance verification, claims, and treatment estimates preferred Knowledge of dental terminology and common dental procedures is a plus Experience with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Curve, or similar software preferred Strong phone, communication, and customer service skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Must be dependable, punctual, and professional Must be comfortable discussing patient balances, copays, and insurance estimates Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Warm, friendly, and patient-focused Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable answering phones and talking with patients Able to manage the schedule efficiently Confident with insurance verification and claim follow-up Professional when discussing finances with patients A team player who is willing to help wherever needed Calm, respectful, and positive even during busy moments Benefits Benefits may include: Competitive hourly pay based on experience Paid time off Paid holidays Dental benefits Training and growth opportunities Supportive team environment Schedule Schedule may vary depending on office needs.
