Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative duties. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient appointment scheduling. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about delivering outstanding patient care through effective communication and administrative support. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing processes including medical collections and medical billing tasks. Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software; manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Maintain patient records by filing, updating, and reviewing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and explaining clinic policies. Review clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness; support coding processes such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and medical coding. Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, typing (including 10-key typing), and maintaining organized medical records. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate care plans and documentation review; support health information management initiatives. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with patients, insurance companies, and vendors. Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines to support accurate billing and documentation. Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently. Office management experience including insurance verification, filing, data entry, and handling multi-line phone systems is beneficial. Pay:
$10.00 - $12.00 per hour
