The MR sets the tone for the visit by greeting the patient and scheduling follow up appointments. The MR is responsible for calling to confirm appointments, greeting and checking in patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and ensuring follow up appointments are scheduled. The MR seeks and accepts feedback from the physicians for the purpose of maintaining or improving the quality of office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner. Perform check in duties, such as: Verifying patient demographic information, entering insurance information, securing and verifying referrals and/or prior authorizations Collection of patient copays, deductibles and coinsurance Obtain test results from third party providers Maintain practice and patient confidentiality Maintain the order and cleanliness of the front desk and waiting room Other miscellaneous office duties Procedural scheduling Scheduling of diagnostic tests
Entry Rate:
Competitive; dependent upon experience
Benefits Eligible:
Yes if working 30 or more hours per week
Shift Details:
This position is full or part time. Hours may fluctuate each week and are coordinated with another MR. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM
  • 7 PM, Saturday 10 AM
  • 1PM.
Department:
Sports and Orthopedic Medicine Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months experience
  • HIPPA knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email
  • Understand medical insurance verification and can collect copays
  • Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
  • Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software
  • Must be able to flex schedule in accordance with patient and provider schedules Physical Requirements Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools.
