Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our podiatry practice. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service while managing front office operations, scheduling appointments, assisting patients, and supporting administrative functions. This role is the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in creating a positive patient experience. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Answer and direct incoming phone calls. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments. Check patients in and out and update demographic information. Verify insurance information and collect copays, deductibles, and balances. Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Process referrals, authorizations, and medical records requests. Respond to patient inquiries and provide basic information about services. Scan, fax, file, and organize patient documents. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence. Maintain a clean and organized front desk and waiting area. Assist providers and office staff with administrative tasks as needed. Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience or medical office experience preferred. Previous healthcare or podiatry office experience is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Required Skills Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Data entry and accurate recordkeeping. Appointment scheduling and calendar management. Telephone etiquette and customer service skills. Ability to operate office equipment (scanner, copier, fax machine, printer). Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Time management and problem-solving abilities. Cash handling and payment processing experience preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
