Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our outpatient practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical administrative support. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and ensuring smooth clinic operations while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at all times. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or other EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Schedule patient appointments efficiently utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems. Collect and process payments, including medical collections, ensuring accuracy in billing procedures. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards. Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and care plans. Assist with insurance verification, billing inquiries, and follow-up on outstanding accounts. Manage phone etiquette professionally while handling multiple calls with efficiency and clarity. Requirements Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a healthcare setting; clinic or dental office experience is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior experience with insurance verification, documentation review, and health information management is advantageous. Demonstrated professionalism in phone etiquette, patient service delivery, and clerical support functions.
