Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical office operations. As a Medical Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience while managing various clerical and administrative tasks essential to efficient clinic functioning. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through exceptional front desk support and medical administrative expertise. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures. Manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and providing accurate information. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers, ensuring proper documentation review for billing processes. Maintain accurate and organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards. Assist with billing procedures, including medical collection efforts, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing documentation. Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, updating patient information, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry and typing with high accuracy. Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and clinic management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix to ensure seamless office workflow. Coordinate appointment scheduling for multiple providers while managing multi-line phone systems efficiently. Ensure compliance with all health information privacy standards while providing exceptional patient service at the front desk. Requirements Proven experience in customer service or medical office environment or healthcare setting, preferably within clinics or dental offices. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation. Experience verifying insurance benefits and handling Medicare-related documentation is preferred.
