Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our busy Neurology Practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support within a busy medical office. This role involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate medical records using various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. The Medical Receptionist will ensure smooth clinic operations while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Front Office & Patient Services Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner Check patients in and out, verify demographics, and collect copayments or balances Schedule appointments, procedures, and follow-up visits Must be able to answer and route incoming phone calls promptly and accurately Must be able to manage patient inquiries via phone, portal, and in person Insurance & Administrative Functions Verify insurance eligibility Obtain and document referrals and authorizations as required Scan, upload, and maintain patient records and documentation in the EMR Collect and post payments according to practice policy Maintain daily schedules and coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient flow Office Operations Monitor appointment availability and assist with schedule optimization Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements at all times Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned to support clinic operations Skills and Competencies Excellent customer service and professionalism Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time-management skills Team-oriented with a positive attitude Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to operate office equipment (computer, phone, scanner)

$17.50 - $20.00 per hour
