Medical Receptionist / Appointment Scheduler

Medical Receptionist Virginia Pediatric Eye Center is a busy pediatric ophthalmology/optometry practice with offices in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. We are looking for qualified applicants who enjoy working with children and have 1-2 years experience working as a Medical Receptionist and Phone Scheduler. Knowledge of performing insurance eligibility, referrals, authorizations, and proper phone etiquette is required. Applicants should have knowledge of medical terminology, experience registering patients, ability to establish rapport with children and their parents, good communication and computer skills, experience using EMR's, and a strong work ethic. Some work shifts will consist entirely of answering incoming phone calls and scheduling patient appointments. Some shifts will be focused on staffing a reception desk and checking patients in and out. Experience scheduling in Allscripts PM is a plus. Benefits include paid vacation, 401K, and health/dental insurance. This is a full-time 40 hour per week position. Our business hours are Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5:30pm. Background check required. Bilingual ability to speak and understand both English and Spanish is strongly preferred. Salary is dependent upon experience.
