Medical Receptionist Overview :
As the first point of contact, Retina Northwest's Medical Receptionist represents everyone involved in the entire practice. Greets patients upon arrival, manages phone systems, and performs other administrative duties as assigned with enthusiasm. Excellent patient and customer service is required. Education
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required. Experience
  • One year of medical office experience or related customer service experience (e.g. dental, mental health, pharmacy, ect.) required. General understanding of medical insurance and experience with Nextech preferred. Reliable Transportation
  • Access to reliable transportation is required to support staffing coverage at satellite clinics in the greater Portland/Vancouver area. Computer Competency
  • typing speed of at least 50 wpm
Work Expectations & Clinic Operations:
The Medical Receptionist is a full-time role with variable hours based on patient volume and may involve travel or floating to other RNW locations as needed. Staff are expected to arrive on time, ready to begin scheduled shifts, and consistently demonstrate professionalism. Accurate electronic timekeeping is required in compliance with Oregon and Washington labor laws, and employees must follow RNW's scheduling procedures, including timely communication regarding time off or scheduling conflicts.
