Job Description

About the role: The Medical Receptionist is a patient facing professional representing NEW Infectious Diseases within the community.
Responsibilities:
Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling Accurately registering patient Checking patients in and out when they arrive for medical appointments Answering the phone to address patient inquiries and scheduling appointments Documenting insurance information, personal information, payment methods and other important patient information Updating patient files and appointment information accurately Contacting insurance companies regarding coverage, preapprovals, billing and other issues Processing payments from patients and handling billing issues between patients and insurance companies Managing various types of paperwork and other clerical duties Ensuring availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records from multiple systems Verifying financial records and collecting patient co-pays and payments Releasing patient medical records in accordance with regulations Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders Candidate requirements: Communication skills to converse clearly over the telephone and in person Organization and time management to manage a variety of tasks effectively Attention to detail to schedule patients correctly and communicate scheduling difficulties with providers Interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients who may be upset or stressed Approved professional background screening Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and lift up to 30 pounds independently Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
