Full Job Description Now Hiring:
Medical Scribe / Finalizer We are a non-profit community clinic dedicated to providing quality care to the underserved, and we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Scribe/Finalizer to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our physicians and improving clinic workflow by ensuring accurate and timely medical documentation.
Summary:
The Finalizer assists physicians with various administrative aspects of patient care in the clinic. This includes documenting patient histories, exam findings, progress notes, procedure notes, follow-up of diagnostic results, arranging consults, and supporting documentation for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter patient exam rooms with the physician to capture and transcribe medical record documentation using EMR systems Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physician review Update patient histories, physical exams, and other pertinent health information Ensure timely completion of medical records, progress notes, diagnostic results, and discharge plans Maintain confidentiality by safeguarding patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies Assist with communication of laboratory and diagnostic results as directed by the Clinic Manager Support providers with clerical tasks to enhance productivity and workflow Train new hires as needed
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program (required) Medical Assistant certification (required) Associate's degree preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic procedures Skilled in Microsoft Office, data entry, and electronic medical record systems Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required Excellent communication and organizational skills
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, team-oriented clinic setting Frequent interaction with a diverse patient population and healthcare professionals Occasional high-pressure situations requiring adaptability
Physical Demands:
Frequent sitting, typing, and speaking Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds
