Medical Historian/Scribe

Medical Historian/Scribe:

Well established and busy private orthopedic, spine, and pain management practice has a full-time opening (Monday to Friday) for a Physician's Clinical Assistant/Medical Historian/Scribe.

Job Purpose:

Assist physician in order to increase efficiency, report production, and flow of patients through the office. Job Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Rooming patients, distributing and collecting paperwork
• Fielding authorization and patient calls
• Obtaining outside medical records, including imaging
• Interview patients and obtain medical history, job description, history of injury and treatment, present complaints, and social history.
• Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to enter patient data.
• Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician.
• Electronically fax completed office visit note to various parties including insurance companies and attorneys.
• Edit medical reports, create proof of services, and otherwise assisting with the processing of outgoing reports
• Assist with other front and back office tasks Skills and qualifications: Applicant must have exceptional written and verbal skills and be proficient in typing and have excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.

The applicant must also be reliable and punctual, professional, and have a willingness to learn. Pre-med students wanted .
