Job Description

Medical Assistant/Medical Scribe 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars Southwest Florida Pain Center specializes in reducing or eliminating your pain using the latest in successful interventional pain management techniques. We have combined highly advanced imaging technologies and ground-breaking surgical techniques that are taking patients to a pain free lifestyle. Our state-of-the-art on-site surgical suites equal unmatched convenience and precision that is only found at SWFL Pain Center. We have two office locations, Port Charlotte and Venice. Our office is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our expanding team. The job responsibilities of the Medical Scribe/Assistant include but are not limited to: Partner with the physician to deliver efficient patient care Room the patient, obtain vitals, discuss/document past medical history and purpose of visit Gather information for the patient's visit including retrieving data for physician review (labs, radiology reports, medical records) Communicate detail of patient past medical history and chief complaint to provider Accompany physician during patient consultations and record physical exam findings into the EMR while ensuring quality and accuracy of documentation Document all diagnoses, treatment plans and follow-up information into the EMR Prepare computerized physician order entry for referrals and prescriptions Ensure that documentation meets medical necessity criteria for specific payer Participate, document, and assist in facilitating telemedicine visits Submit and obtain medical clearance as needed for procedures from specialist/prescribing physician. Send electronic task to Authorization Department for procedure and benefit verification; communicate with Auth Dept for facilitation of emergent procedure verification Send electronic task to Surgical Scheduler for scheduling of procedures to be performed at an outside facility. Assist with and document procedures completed on an as needed basis Schedule future appointments as needed Return patient phone calls and communicate information from the provider We ask that you be willing to train and work in both office locations Southwest Florida Pain Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.
