Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Scribe to support our Otolaryngology Surgery providers in Chantilly. In this role, you will assist with documentation and coordination of patient care, ensuring accurate and timely medical records. This position involves close collaboration with our medical team to deliver high-quality care to both adult and pediatric patients.Key Responsibilities:
Review and edit medical notes created by AI, provider dictation, and patient conversation from provider-patient interactions. Accurately document medical histories, exam findings, assessments, and care plans into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), using eClinicalWorks (eCW). Enter lab orders, imaging requests, procedure orders, product codes, and prescriptions as directed by the provider. Verify current medications and allergies accurately. Ensure examination rooms are properly stocked, assist with equipment and medical supply requests, and assist with in-office procedures. Maintain cleanliness and safety, including managing hazardous waste. Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and properly finalized. Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Assist with patient follow-up, scheduling direction, and coordination of ancillary services as needed in person or over the phone. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients in person or over the phone. Bill medical office visits appropriately, factoring in both out-of-pocket and insurance-covered services.Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.Skills:
Proficiency with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks is a plus) but willing to train the appropriate candidate. Proficient in typing. Minimum speed of 50+ WPM required. Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently. Knowledge of ENT, surgical, or facial plastics practices is strongly preferred. Requires basic mathematical skills for cost and conversion needs.Work Schedule:
Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts) No weekends Occasional work-from-home hours approved at the discretion of the manager. Must be available to work in both Chantilly and have reliable transportation to travel between offices when necessary. Office locations include Chantilly, Fairfax, and Reston.Benefits:
