Overview:

We are seeking an experienced detail-oriented and dependable Medical Scribe in Belton, TX to join our team at a leading Behavioral Health Hospital. This position plays a critical role in supporting clinical providers by accurately documenting patient encounters in real time, improving provider efficiency and ensuring accurate and timely medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters, including psychiatric assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Prepare clients to see the doctor via telehealth platform. Input data directly into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system under the supervision of licensed providers. Review and organize patient charts before and after visits to ensure completeness and compliance. Assist with tracking and entering orders, test results, and other relevant medical data. Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to support workflow efficiency and communication.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in healthcare preferred. Prior experience as a scribe or in a medical or behavioral health setting is required. Must be able to report to facility five (5) days per week. Must be willing to work one weekend per month. Knowledge of medical terminology and psychiatric diagnoses is a plus. Proficient in typing and navigating EMR systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, confidential healthcare environment.
