Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant and Scribe to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care while accurately documenting medical encounters in real-time. Your expertise will support physicians across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and emergency medicine, ensuring seamless clinical operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in fast-paced outpatient and inpatient settings, including Level I and Level II trauma centers, with a focus on delivering compassionate, efficient, and precise medical support. All work is compensated, recognizing the importance of your skills and dedication. Duties Assist healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems during examinations and procedures. Obtain and record vital signs, patient histories, and medication information to support clinical decision-making. Prepare patients for examinations by performing intake assessments, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort. Support clinical procedures such as X-ray imaging, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Manage medical administrative tasks including ICD coding for diagnoses, updating patient records, and scheduling follow-ups. Assist with inpatient care activities in hospital environments such as the PICU or Geriatrics units, ensuring smooth workflow. Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics or hospital settings with Level I or Level II trauma center experience. Maintain a high standard of patient service by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and clear communication at all times. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program is required. Prior experience working in dermatology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or urgent care settings is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and ICD coding practices. Experience with EHR systems and medical-surgical documentation processes. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, intake assessments, medication administration, and basic X-ray procedures. Familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is advantageous. Demonstrated patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care across outpatient and inpatient settings. Knowledge of emergency procedures including Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.
