You:
As a Medical Assistant, you'll gain direct exposure to clinical care and surgical procedures. You'll work closely with physicians, learn about medical protocols, and develop critical skills that will enhance your medical school or PA school application. Direct Patient Interaction Hands-on Clinical Experience Sterile Technique and Procedure Assistance EMR Proficiency Multidisciplinary Team Exposure Key Responsibilities:
Support general medical assistant duties, such as exam room preparation, patient assistance, and scribing as needed. Enter patient medical histories and prescriptions into the EMR system. Educate and respond to patient inquiries in person and over the phone. Assist the physician during surgical procedures (limited opportunity) - Participation in surgical procedures is not guaranteed and will be determined after hiring based on performance, reliability, and clinical readiness. Prepare the procedure room and maintain sterile techniques, including scrubbing, gowning, and gloving team members and ensure all necessary supplies are ready. Assist with patient preparation, transportation, and monitoring during procedures. Clean and organize the procedure room after surgeries and manage supplies. Ensure patient safety and follow all medical protocols.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
1 year of medical office experience preferred, but highly motivated recent graduates or gap-year students are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with vital signs, documentation review, and EMR systems is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required.
Availability :
•Able to remain at job position for at least 1 year.•
Spanish Speaking Skills & Attributes:
Eager to learn in a fast-paced medical environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. A positive attitude and a passion for patient care. Punctual and reliable, as consistency is key in patient care.
