Job Description
We are seeking a Medical Assistant/ Medical Scribe to join our team! You will transcribe medical reports by physicians and other healthcare practitioners. You will additionally be trained on duties of our Medical Assistants. (All training done in-house, no special certificates needed).
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
Responsibilities:
Casting, scanning for braces, custom orthotics, applying wound dressing, applying wound vacs, x-rays, routine foot care, nail lasers, neuropathy treatment, etc. Transcribe reports from medical personnel Provide excellent customer service and the highest quality patient care Verify and input patient medications into EMR system. Making any necessary changes and additions as needed. Maintain cleanliness and supplies in patient exam rooms. Translate abbreviations into proper form Review reports for completeness Take pharmacy phone calls, review charts and calls from patient and other external sources. Follow proper protocol for sterilizing instruments. Correct errors in transcription, grammar, punctuation and spelling Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures Escort patients to exam rooms Actively demonstrates teamwork. Preforms other duties as required. Qualifications:
Previous Medical Assistant positions, but not required - we train everything in-house Previous experience in medical transcription or other related healthcare fields Familiarity with transcription devices Familiarity with medical terminology Strong attention to detail Strong organizational skills Podiatry and wound care experience is a plus!Working Environment:
Long period of standing Normal range of hearing, voice, and vision to preform work and communication. Repetitive use of hands and fingers ie: use of computer keyboards. Ability to travel to off site clinics Busy complex office environment, requiring detailed focused attention Ability to meet physical demands of the job, which include, but are not limited too: standing, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, transporting supplies or equipment, and occasionally lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying items which may weigh up 50 lbs.Schedule:
M-F between the hours of 6:45am-5:30pm (rotating), one Saturday every other month (required)Location:
We are staffing Plano location but employees may be asked to travel to other locations (within reason from home). We like to have a good time in our office; however, we have expectations of working hard and rely on our team to be at work and on time, each day.Job Type:
