Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Manager or designee, maintains medical record integrity through analyzing and processing medical data entry in patient records information, performs audits, assists physicians in chart deficiencies, preps, scans, and indexes into the Horizon Patient Folder on a daily basis. Responds to requests for highly confidential medical information from a variety of sources. Performs duties in accordance with established hospital and department policy and procedure also in accordance to the state and federal guidelines.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.
High School diploma or GED is required. 2. One year experience in Medical Records as chart analyst or one year experience in physician's office as an office physician assistant experience re (enabling a person to interpret physician's handwriting and recognize a physician's signature). 3. Six month course in medical terminology or one year experience in Medical Records or physicians office being qualified to read and understand the medical terminology of a medical report. 4. One year working experience in data entry/imaging equipment or a certified business course or specialized training in data entry/imaging equipment. 5. Six months training course on the legal aspects of releasing highly confidential medical information or one year experience in a hospital or physician office setting where releasing of medical information is required. 6. At least six months previous related experience in public contact and medical office. 7. Must possess excellent organizational skills.
