In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, professional care in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or community-based settings. Your skills in medication administration, patient care, and medical documentation will ensure safety and comfort for those you serve. Responsibilities Administer medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols, including oral, and topical. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status. Assist residents and patients with daily activities including mobility, hygiene, feeding, and personal care needs. Maintain detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like PCC to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to update patient charts, document medical procedures, and communicate changes in condition effectively. Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment by adhering to OSHA standards and maintaining cleanliness of medical equipment. Qualifications Valid certification as a Medical Technician / Medication Assistant-Certified (CMT or MA-C) with current licensure in the respective state. Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing practices including catheter care and tube feeding procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as PCC is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical documentation standards. Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care.
