Job Description

About the Role We are an independent, Arizona-based long term care pharmacy seeking a field-based Medication Technician to serve as our on-site liaison at skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and hospice organizations across the state. This is a relationship-first role. You will be the face of our pharmacy to nurses, administrators, and resident care staff — conducting medication cart audits, verifying cycle fill accuracy, coordinating MAR reconciliation, and ensuring our clients experience best-in-class service on every visit. What You'll Do Conduct scheduled and unannounced medication cart audits at assigned facilities Identify expired, discontinued, or mislabeled medications and coordinate resolution Compare dispensed medications against facility MARs; escalate discrepancies immediately Verify monthly cycle fill accuracy and communicate gaps to the dispensing team Build trusted relationships with Directors of Nursing, charge nurses, and facility administrators Document all findings and submit audit reports within 24 hours of each visit
What We're Looking For Required:
Active Arizona CNA license; or experience as a Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) in a long term care setting Minimum 2 years of experience in a long term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living setting Valid Arizona driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) Strong communication and customer service skills with healthcare professionals
Preferred:
Prior experience with medication cart auditing or pharmacy field services Familiarity with electronic MAR platforms (PointClickCare, MatrixCare, or similar) Knowledge of medication packaging formats: blister packs, unit-dose pouches, vials Working Conditions Field-based role with regular travel throughout Arizona. Occasional early mornings or weekends based on facility needs. Light lifting required. Background check, MVR review, and drug screening required.
