Job Description

Responsibilities:
Assist residents with all prescribed medications as ordered by their physician under the supervision of the Administrator. Prepare medication including pouring liquid and passing medications. Accurately assist residents with PRN medications and documents as determined by the physician's signed PRN authorization form. Will ensure all resident medication orders are current and correct including dosage, change in dosage and temporarily or permanently discontinued. Reports to the Administrator any medication errors. Charts all medications given to residents in the medication binder. Ensures that all centrally stored medication is inaccessible to residents or staff who are not authorized to handle medication. Observe residents for any reactions and/or side effects of medication and report to the resident physician. Documents any changes in the resident's health condition or mental status. Ensures each resident medication chart is accurate and correct. Will ensure both new resident prescriptions and reordering existing resident prescriptions are handled in a timely manner. Adheres to infection control and prevention at all times. Assist residents with activities of daily need including but not limited to bathing dressing, grooming, dental care, and incontinence care as needed Documents daily care. Observes residents and documents and reports any change in condition to the Administrator. Acknowledges and understands all residents' rights and ensures those rights are always maintained.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in assisted living or geriatric care. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic patient care. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Compassion and empathy when working with elderly or disabled individuals. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and respect privacy. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move patients if required.
