PM Location:
Los Angeles, CA We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our senior living team. In this role, you will assist residents with the self-administration of medications while supporting their daily living needs. You'll play an important part in ensuring resident safety, dignity, and overall quality of life.
What You'll Do:
Assist residents with self-administration of medications in accordance with state regulations and facility policies. Prepare and complete medication passes accurately and safely. Maintain up-to-date medication records and ensure physician orders are current. Monitor for expired medications and properly dispose of them per policy. Order medications and coordinate deliveries as needed. Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition. Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed. Respond promptly to resident needs, including emergency calls. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant medication room. Ensure resident rooms are free of unauthorized medications. Document care and daily tasks using electronic systems. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members. Assist with meals and maintain a clean dining environment. Follow infection control, safety procedures, and resident rights policies. Provide supportive care for residents with dementia or mental health needs. Supervise caregivers in medication-related tasks under direction of the Charge Nurse. Participate in ongoing training, in-services, and team meetings What You'll Need to
Succeed:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old. Current Medication Aide/Med Tech certification (as required by state). Previous caregiving or CNA experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medication protocols. Excellent communication and observation skills. Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergencies. Basic computer skills for documentation and communication. Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Current Adult First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Ability to pass background checks (DOJ/FBI or state equivalent). Completion of health screening and TB test as required. Reliable transportation and flexibility to work weekends and holidays. Commitment to completing required monthly training. What Nazareth House•
