Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medication Technician, a vital role committed to delivering safe, compassionate medication management and patient care. In this energetic position, you will assist in administering medications, monitoring patient health, and supporting residents in various care settings. Your expertise will ensure that individuals receive the highest quality of care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized medical attention. Duties Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients following all protocols and physician orders using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to assess patient health status regularly. Assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition support tailored to individual needs. Document medication administration, patient responses, and any adverse reactions accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support residents with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, hospice, or palliative care by providing compassionate assistance. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control procedures and proper medication storage protocols. Engage with patients or residents empathetically, especially those with developmental disabilities or requiring home & community care services. Skills Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and record-keeping. Ability to perform clinical tasks including tube feeding, catheter care, and vital signs measurement confidently. Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments in memory or hospice care settings. Knowledge of medical records management and medical documentation best practices. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities across various settings such as acute care or home & community environments.
