Job Description
At City Creek Assisted Living we are passionate about caring for our residents, and want you to join our team! "Our purpose is to Uplift and Nurture an atmosphere of Healing in the lives of those we are fortunate to serve." The Medication Technician is responsible for supervising and assisting in the administration of medications to residents. The Medication Technician will also provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, work with housekeepers and maintenance staff in accordance with the company's mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the accurate and timely distribution of medications to residents according to the written orders and instructions provided by physicians Follow "Medication Training" policies and procedures regarding infection control, standard precautions, biohazard waste, and sharps management and disposal. Fax new orders to pharmacy and track all medication changes, refills and deliveries with pharmacies. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records. Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards. Observe and immediately report any changes in resident condition following the "Medication Training" policies and procedures. Understand and follow all emergency protocols and respond to emergencies as directed and per Community training. Treat residents with dignity and respect.Qualifications:
Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly. Knowledgeable about medications Must be at least 18 years of age. Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs. Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families. Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests.Job Type:
