Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician / Caregiver to provide high-quality care in a supportive environment from 6 PM to 6 AM. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, medication administration, and ensuring their safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings, with a strong understanding of medical documentation and patient care protocols. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities, supporting their health and well-being through attentive caregiving and medication management. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility policies Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility Monitor vital signs and observe residents for any changes in health status Document all care activities and medication administration using EMR/EHR systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and tube feeding Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety procedures Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding resident conditions and care plans Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring environment Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, vital signs measurement, and basic anatomy or physiology-related tasks as trained Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards related to patient care Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs is a plus Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous Familiarity with medication administration protocols and patient safety procedures required Background in hospice or memory care (Alzheimer's/dementia) is beneficial Previous experience with medical office tasks or acute care settings is a plus Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with seniors or individuals with disabilities while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines https://info.flclearinghouse.com
