Job Summary Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Medication Technician, where your dedication to patient care makes a meaningful difference every day. In this vital role, you will provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, administer medications accurately, and support the overall well-being of residents across various care settings. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Administer prescribed medications following all safety protocols and document medication administration accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; report any abnormalities promptly to nursing staff. Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, behavioral health challenges, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy. Document all patient interactions clearly and thoroughly in medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, long-term care, assisted living, hospice, or hospital environments to deliver comprehensive patient service. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Medication Technician license in accordance with state regulations. Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU, Level I & II trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for medical documentation. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Prior experience with medication administration and patient service in medical-surgical or post-acute care environments. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility; capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving; experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
