Part-time, Full-time Job Summary:
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is a vital member of our team, entrusted with the supervision of our caregiving staff while ensuring high standards of resident care and fostering the well-being of our residents. The CMA is also responsible for correctly dispensing scheduled medications in accordance with state laws and the guidelines set by Prema at Ashton Hills LLC ("Prema"). In addition, the CMA is tasked with providing personalized services to our residents, handling emergencies effectively, and safeguarding the rights of residents to receive safe, quick, and confidential care. The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) reports to the Wellness Director, Executive Director, and Manager-on-Duty.

Qualifications:
A minimum of one-year experience in a Senior Living setting. Prior supervisory experience in a healthcare or service-related industry is an advantage. Must hold a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate. Must hold a Georgia Certified Medication Aide Certificate and be in good standing with the Georgia CNA/CMA Registry. Proficient in English - reading, writing, and speaking. Warm, caring demeanor with a strong desire to work with the elderly. At least 21 years old with a clean criminal record. Must have a clean bill of health certified by a licensed physician and a negative drug test. Able to act appropriately during emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities :
Adhere to the six 'rights' of medication assistance while administering medication and accurately document the process in the Medication Observation Record (MOR). Respect the residents' right to refuse medication or treatment, providing an explanation for each medication before administration. Immediately report any adverse reactions or mistakes in medication administration to the Wellness Director and/or the Executive Director. Participate in all staff meetings and mandatory in-service training sessions. Communicate residents' needs effectively during shift changes and report any changes in a resident's condition to the Wellness Director or Executive Director. Ensure all necessary paperwork for resident care is up-to-date and complete. Liaise with the Pharmacy for resident medication information as required. Oversee caregiver staff, ensuring they provide top-quality care in alignment with Prema Senior Living philosophy. Be quick to respond to residents' calls and oversee meal services in the dining room. Keep a watchful eye on residents, updating the Wellness Director, Manger on Duty, or Executive Director on any changes in their condition. Implement infection control procedures and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with our policy. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families. Ensure adequate staffing by creating efficient caregiver staff schedules. Follow the established procedures when responding to resident emergencies. Commit to continuing education - 24 hours in the first year and 16 hours every year thereafter, as per Alliant GMCF Registry guidelines. Maintain CPR & First Aid certification. Lead with a positive attitude, encourage teamwork, and foster the Prema Senior Living philosophy. Maintain an open-door policy for employees to express their concerns or grievances. Other responsibilities and duties may be required to be performed as part of this role at the discretion of Prema Management.
Physical Job Demands and Requirements:
Assist in the transfer of residents, adhering to proper body mechanics and safety measures. Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Frequently kneel, bend, and reach. Sit for up to two hours a day and capable of walking or standing for up to eight hours a day. Frequently support up to 70 pounds.
