In this role, you will support residents by administering medications as directed, observing for changes in condition, assisting with daily care needs, and helping create a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for older adults living with memory loss. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, calm under pressure, and committed to person-centered care. Key Responsibilities Administer and document prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, community policies, and state regulations. Follow the Five Rights of medication administration and verify resident identity before providing medications. Observe residents for side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the supervising nurse. Maintain accurate medication records, including refusals, omissions, and incident reporting as required. Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and dining support as needed. Take and record vital signs, weights, and other assigned health observations. Ensure medications are stored securely and properly, and monitor for expired or discontinued medications. Support a clean, safe, and welcoming memory care environment for residents, families, and team members. Communicate respectfully with residents, families, nurses, and other staff to support high-quality care. Qualifications Current Certified Medication Aide certification in accordance with state requirements. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, dementia care, or memory care preferred. Knowledge of medication administration procedures, documentation practices, and resident safety standards. Ability to work with older adults with dementia using patience, empathy, and professionalism. Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow infection control and safety procedures. Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred, if required by the community. Schedule & Physical Requirements This position may require day, evening, weekend, and holiday availability. Candidates should be able to stand and walk for extended periods, assist with resident transfers and mobility, and perform routine caregiving tasks in a fast-paced community setting.
