Job Description
Overview Join our compassionate healthcare team as a Medication Aide / Caregiver, where your dedication and expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, medication management, and personal care, fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. We are committed to providing comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure you thrive in your caregiving journey while delivering exceptional patient-centered care. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately following established protocols, including oral, topical, and injectable medications as permitted by state regulations Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and hygiene to promote independence and dignity Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings meticulously using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Support residents with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and behavioral challenges with patience and understanding Maintain detailed medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations; update medical records regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance Provide compassionate caregiving in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings; work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans Perform clinical tasks such as catheter care, tube feeding assistance, and basic physiology or anatomy-related procedures under supervision or within scope of practice Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred; hospital or home & community care experience is a plus Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, medication administration protocols, and HIPAA compliance Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and record keeping Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy related to patient care procedures including catheter care and tube feeding Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general; experience in Alzheimer's or dementia care is advantageous Valid certification as a Medication Aide / Caregiver where applicable; willingness to obtain necessary licenses or certifications required by state law Excellent communication skills combined with a caring attitude; ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team Join us in delivering top-quality senior and disability care that emphasizes respect, compassion, and professionalism.
