Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Aide, where your expertise will directly impact the quality of life for our residents. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration, patient care, and support services within an assisted living community. Your compassionate approach combined with your clinical skills will ensure safe, respectful, and effective care tailored to each individual's needs. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that prioritize dignity, safety, and well-being. We currently are hiring for 12 hour shifts. Responsibilities Safely administer prescribed medications following all federal and state regulations, including medication reminders and documentation. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status accurately. Assist residents or patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory impairments through compassionate engagement and tailored routines. Support hospice or palliative care efforts by offering comfort measures and respecting patient wishes during end-of-life care. Maintain detailed medical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Observe for any adverse reactions or changes in condition related to medications or health status and report promptly to supervising healthcare professionals. Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Assist with specialized procedures such as catheter care or tube feeding under supervision and according to protocols. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive resident centered care. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate medical documentation. Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or chronic conditions like Alzheimer's disease or dementia enhances your ability to provide empathetic support. Background in hospice or memory care settings is a valuable asset for managing complex emotional and physical needs. Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassion. Valid certification as a Medication Aide from an accredited program is required; ongoing training in medical records management and HIPAA compliance is essential.
