Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a full-time dedicated and compassionate Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join our assisted living healthcare team. In this vital role, you will administer medications, monitor our resident's health, and provide essential support to our residents. Your expertise will ensure safe medication practices while delivering respectful, person-centered care that enhances quality of life. This position offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
Responsibilities:
Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments following physician orders and facility protocols. No IV medications. No PEG/feeding tubes. Monitor and document vital signs, medication effects, changes in behaviors, and patient responses. Insulin administration certification is a plus, but not mandatory. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including mobility and hygiene. We are a no-lift facility - easy on your back!!! Maintain comprehensive medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies. Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental health status promptly to nursing staff or supervisors. Support hospice and palliative care initiatives by delivering compassionate medication management and emotional support.

Requirements :
Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is preferred, but new grads are welcome! Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration procedures. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and respond appropriately to abnormal findings. Excellent caregiving skills with a focus on patient safety, dignity, and personalized care plans. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and medical documentation best practices.
