About the Role As a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) at CarDon and Associates, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the management of medication schedules, ensuring that each resident receives their prescribed medications in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for monitoring residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications, providing essential feedback to nursing staff. This position requires a compassionate approach, as you will be interacting with residents daily, fostering a supportive and caring environment. Ultimately, your work will contribute significantly to the overall health and well-being of our residents, enhancing their quality of life. Job Responsibilities Administer medications to residents as per physician's orders and facility policies. Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff. Maintain accurate medication administration records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents. Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding medication management. Minimum Qualifications Current certification as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) in the state of Indiana. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care. Preferred Qualifications Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medication management. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
