Job Description

Job Overview Low staff to resident ratios. Paid breaks. Competitive compensation with additional pay incentives! We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, particularly in settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals. This role is essential for ensuring the safe administration of medications and providing high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs, including those needing memory care. CMAs and CNAs in this setting work as universal workers and assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, and resident care.

  • Responsibilities Assisting with daily living activities
  • bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers/mobility Providing nutritional support
  • cooking/meal preparation, serving meals, assisting with feeding Ensuring resident safety and comfort
  • repositioning residents in bed/chair, assisting with transfers utilizing mechanical lifts, promptly responding to call lights, offering emotional support and companionship to residents, leading assigned resident activities Maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Cleaning resident rooms and bathrooms, changing bed linens, cleaning common areas and shared areas, cleaning kitchen/food prep areas after meals, laundry, following infection control protocols Monitoring resident health
  • taking and recording vital signs, obtaining and recording weights, accurately documenting pertinent information, basic wound care, first aid, catheter care, and other delegated tasks Ability to safely and competently administer medications to residents according to the 5 Rights of Medication Administration Insulin preparation Tube feedings Requirements Certification as a Medication Aide in the state of Kansas Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or hospital settings is preferred.
Proficiency in catheter care, tube feeding, and other specialized caregiving techniques is beneficial. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
