Job Description

DESCRIPTION PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and bed making. Demonstrate knowledge of residents in regard to background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity and attention span capability. Participate in service plan updates. Assist with meal service. Know and comply with all resident rights. Receive and give report of shift activities and concerns during shift change report by oral and/ or written log. Observe and report any changes in resident's condition (behavior or health); take action to ensure safety of the resident and reports changes to Wellness Nurse or Supervisor. Complete documentation accurately and in timely manner. Check on resident rooms daily for general cleanliness and neatness; ensure rooms are clear of fall hazards. Check common areas
  • including public bathrooms
  • for cleanliness.
Measure and accurately record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) where appropriate, as per state regulations. Assist residents with medication administration. Participate in narcotic count.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current/active certification
  • required One year Long Term Care experience
  • preferred RP on cart must pass medication test with 85% or better score to obtain competency
  • required Good communication and interpersonal skills with team members, residents.
Good computer and technology skills. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with team members, patients/residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public. Must be able to work harmoniously with all team members Must possess patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult patients/residents. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of the other individuals in the workplace.
