Avaris Concepts, LLC (AC) is a behavioral health organization that provides residential treatment services for adults with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and Mental Health Disorders (Co-Occurring Disorders). Our programs operate in residential settings within Baltimore City and surrounding counties and are staffed 24/7 to ensure high-quality care and support.
Role Summary:
The Medication Technician (Med Tech) supports residents during two scheduled daily medication pass windows — a 30-minute morning window and a 30-minute evening window, seven days a week — ensuring timely and accurate administration of prescribed medications and maintaining required documentation. This is a fixed, recurring split-shift role rather than a continuous on-site shift, and is structured around the program's daily medication pass schedule.
Schedule Detail:
Morning medication pass: 30-minute scheduled window, 7 days per week.
Evening medication pass:
30-minute scheduled window, 7 days per week. Exact start times are set by house schedule and may vary slightly by site (21213) to accommodate resident meal and program schedules. Med Tech must arrive prepared to begin the medication pass promptly at the scheduled start time and complete all required documentation within the assigned window. Reliable, punctual attendance for both daily windows is an essential function of this role
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer medications during the scheduled morning and evening medication pass windows, in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and company protocols. Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs), medication counts, and incident logs for each medication pass. Observe and document resident behavior, emotional status, and physical condition at the time medications are administered. Identify and immediately report any missed doses, refusals, adverse reactions, or medication discrepancies to clinical/nursing staff. Conduct brief wellness checks during each medication pass window as applicable. Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and conflict resolution as needed during the medication pass. Communicate effectively with clinical, medical, and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care between medication passes. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all licensing/accreditation standards. Assist with medication-related components of admission, orientation, and discharge processes as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED required. At least one (1) year of experience in behavioral health, residential care, or SUD treatment preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, observational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to document accurately in paper and/or electronic medical records within a brief, time-limited window. Ability to work reliably within fixed, recurring split-shift windows, including weekends and holidays. Reliable transportation between sites, if covering both the 21213 locations. Ability to pass criminal background check, drug screening, and health clearance (TB/COVID testing may be required).
Licenses, Registrations, and Certificates:
Valid Maryland Medication Technician Certification (MTT) required. Current CPR and First Aid certification required (or must obtain within 30 days of hire). Valid government-issued photo ID.
Pay/Compensation:
Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications. Compensation reflects scheduled medication pass windows (approximately 7 hours/week per site). Additional shift differentials may apply.

$17.50 - $26.00 per hour
