Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician/Caregiver to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide essential medication management and personalized care to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. Your expertise will support individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other memory care requirements. All roles are paid positions, emphasizing the importance of your contribution to patient well-being. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely following established protocols and medical documentation standards. Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support to promote independence and dignity. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings meticulously in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and other complex medical procedures under supervision. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records with care. Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental health status promptly to nursing staff or healthcare providers. Support medication reconciliation processes and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals in accordance with safety standards. Provide compassionate caregiving tailored to individuals with disabilities or those requiring hospice or memory care services. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing practices such as vital signs measurement and catheter care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Experience administering medications safely and understanding HIPAA compliance is essential. Strong caregiving skills with a focus on dementia care, Alzheimer's support, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely while maintaining a positive attitude and empathetic approach. Certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain required certifications is expected.
