Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT), where you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, safe, and effective medication management to residents across our nursing home. In this energetic position, you'll ensure that medication administration is performed accurately and in compliance with all regulatory standards, while fostering a warm and supportive environment for those in your care. Your expertise will help improve quality of life for individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications to residents accurately, following physician orders and facility protocols Monitor residents' vital signs, response to medications, and overall health status to ensure safety and well-being Maintain detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including catheter care, tube feeding, and other personal hygiene tasks Collaborate closely with nursing staff and healthcare providers to update medication lists and communicate changes in patient condition Follow all safety procedures related to medication storage, handling, and disposal in accordance with state and federal guidelines Document all medication administration activities clearly and accurately in medical documentation systems Requirements Valid Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or in hospice and memory care settings is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems. Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform basic clinical tasks such as catheter care and tube feeding Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication and attention to detail Join us in providing exceptional care that enriches lives!
