Overview We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our compassionate healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medication administration and patient care, with experience working with geriatric and disabled populations. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents by ensuring safe, accurate medication management and comprehensive support. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with state regulations and facility policies. Monitor residents' vital signs, health status, and response to medications, documenting findings meticulously in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition support, while maintaining dignity and respect. Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of all medical records and patient information. Educate residents and their families about medication regimens, potential side effects, and safety precautions. Perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting residents with transfers or mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary. Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications according to legal standards and facility protocols. Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care settings with a focus on senior or dementia care. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the principles of medication administration. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with EHR systems is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, state healthcare laws, and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform CPR and First Aid confidently; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is preferred. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks; ability to work effectively with geriatric patients requiring specialized attention. Excellent communication skills for patient education, team collaboration, and documentation accuracy.
