Overview We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Technician to join our compassionate care team. In this vital role, you will administer medications, monitor patient health, and support overall well-being within a variety of healthcare settings. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals by ensuring safe and effective medication management. Responsibilities Administer prescribed medications accurately in accordance with state regulations and facility policies. Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects and report findings promptly to nursing staff. Maintain precise medical documentation and medication records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with patient care activities including vital signs, catheter care, tube feeding, and basic life support procedures. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare guidelines to protect patient confidentiality. Support residents with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance and personal hygiene tasks. Participate in ongoing training related to assisted living, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice, and other specialized senior care services. Skills Proven experience working with geriatric patients in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing medication management. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when necessary. Excellent caregiving skills with a focus on compassion for individuals with disabilities or memory care needs. Certifications in first aid, CPR, basic life support (BLS), and tube feeding procedures are required or preferred.
