Overview We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Technician to join our compassionate healthcare team. This vital role involves administering medications, supporting patient care, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with geriatric and disabled populations in various care settings, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to quality service. Duties Administer prescribed medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects and report findings to healthcare professionals promptly. Maintain detailed medical documentation, including medication records and patient charts, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations. Assist with daily patient care activities, including vital signs, hygiene, mobility support, and basic nursing tasks. Support patients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, providing respectful and person-centered assistance. Follow proper procedures for tube feeding, catheter care, and manual handling to ensure safety for patients and staff. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and medication tracking. Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with EHR systems is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks associated with patient mobility support. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and family members. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws to ensure confidentiality and compliance. Certifications in first aid, CPR, basic life support (BLS), and hospice or palliative care are highly desirable.
