Job Description
Seeking Certified Medication Aides who are registered in North Carolina. Positions available on all shifts. Must have the ability to handle all behavior types in a courteous professional manner. Attention to detail is needed for this position. PCA or CNA Certification is required. Current CPR Certification preferred.
- $500 sign-on bonus available for NEW hires.

•Position Requirements:
Medication aides shall successfully pass the written exam within 90 days after successful completion of the clinical skills validation portion of a competency evaluation. Must be at least 18 years of age.Position Description:
Assist in administration of medication to residents as ordered by the attending practitioner, under the direction of the attending practitioner, your supervisor and your administrator. Administration of medications shall be in accordance with established nursing standards, DHSR regulations, policies and procedures of the company, and practices of the individual facility. Duties are outlined as, but not limited to, the following: A. Administrative Functions- Follow and understand policies and procedures of the facility governing the administration of medication.
- Note and report errors in the administration of medications and take all precautions to prevent errors and mistakes by following best practices outlined by facility.
- Assist in developing and implementing procedures or programs of the facility that seek to determine what medication errors are taking place, when, where, and why they occur, and how to prevent
- Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, charts, reports, documentation, etc and submit and record as required.
- Report any complaints or grievances made by residents, families or other staff to your RCD/SCD or Administrator.
- Ordering and Re-ordering of all resident medications. Monitoring medication carts to ensure that NO resident is without proper medications.
- Supervision of C.N.A. staff. Monitoring resident care for each individual resident and ensuring C.N.A. staff stays on task and on time following all policies and procedure including guidelines in the employee handbook.
- B. Drug Administration Functions
- Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document any oral, topical, otic/nasal/optic medications that are used in this facility and that may be ordered for resident use by the attending practitioner.
- Verify medications brought into the facility by a newly admitted resident
- Follow all labeling policies and procedures of the facility.
- Ensure all medications administered are properly labeled according to state regulations.
- Assist with medication charting as directed by the practitioner, facility, and supervisor.
- Follow facility procedure in regards to charting of medications. MARs (Medication Administration Records) are to be signed at the time medications are administered to the resident.
- Accurately measure, record, and observe the vital signs of residents.
- Ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, dated order from an attending licensed practitioner. Ensure all telephone orders are signed without 14 days. C. Staff Development
- Attend and participate in continuing education programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession as well as to maintain and pursue further education of medication, treatments, and diseases states or illnesses.
- Maintain and update certifications and licenses as required by state regulations.
- Attend and participate in meeting, trainings, and skills labs.
